Medicare Advantage Plans

Medicare Advantage Plans are health insurance plans offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare. These plans provide an alternative way to receive your Medicare Part A (hospital insurance) and Part B (medical insurance) benefits. When considering a Medicare Advantage plan, it's important to review the plan's network, coverage details, costs, and the specific benefits offered.

TRICARE for Life

TRICARE for Life and Medicare coordinate benefits, with TRICARE typically paying after Medicare for Medicare-covered services. If you have TRICARE For Life (TFL) and Medicare, you can enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan, but TFL will generally coordinate benefits with Medicare Advantage plans similarly to Original Medicare.

Dual Eligible Plans

Dual eligible individuals are individuals who qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid benefits. These individuals are often referred to as "dual eligibles" or "Medicare-Medicaid beneficiaries." If you or someone you know is dual eligible, it's important to review available D-SNP options in your state to understand the specific benefits, coverage, and costs associated with each plan.

Medicare Advantage plans (Part C)

Medicare Advantage plans are offered by private insurance companies contracted through Medicare as alternatives for Original Medicare. These plans combine all of the benefits of Medicare Part A (hospital) and Part B (medical), and may also include prescription drug coverage, dental or vision coverage all for an affordable and sometimes $0 monthly plan premium.

Medicare Prescription Drug plans (Part D)

Medicare Part D plans add prescription drug coverage to Original Medicare, some Medicare Cost Plans, some Medicare Private Fee-for-Service (PFFS) Plans, and Medicare Medical Savings Account (MSA) Plans. A prescription drug plan may help you save money on existing prescriptions or on medication needs in the future.
